Poet's Tour of Harrisburg

The Almost Uptown Poetry Cartel has produced a walking tour of Harrisburg audio experience.

Asphalt, Concrete. Corporeality. Writers, poets live in a different world from the rest of us. But they walk the same streets, shop the same markets, go to the cinema, the bookstore, the corner deli. We can learn what they think and feel, to a limited extent, from their literature. But authors leave footsteps as well.

Open reading, theme: Poems about or inspired by Harrisburg followed by the live presentation of A Poets Tour of Harrisburg with poems by Michael Olimpi, Phillip Wheeler, Keith Ward, Dave Grill, Jack Veasey, Kim Roberts, Kerry Shawn Keys, Craig Czury, Bill Roddy, Michael Brown, Keith Snow, Maria James, Jeannette Trout, Randy Gross, Lauren Gross, Kevyn Knox, Julia Tilley, Rick Kearns, & Claude Lewis.

A Poets Tour of Harrisburg is presented by the Almost Uptown Poetry Cartel and funded by a grant from Jump Street.

Treasure Trove Poetry Project
Treasure Trove Poetry Project is a unique literary magazine that makes poetry available through a gumball vending machine. Put in a quarter and out pops a poem by one of the"Harrisburg 8" poets featured in Treasure Trove's premier issue. Hey, we're talking collector's item stuff here.

Be the first on your block to collect all eight versifiers!

Treasure Trove is the newest poetry installation by artist/poet, Julia Tilley. Tilley was inspired to create this project after reading an article about Art'o'mat, old cigarette machines revamped to dispense art. "Poetry should be fun and accessible. I'm always looking for ways to get poems off the page and in front of people," Tilley said.
